Arrieta (5-13) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Giants after allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while fanning three across 3.2 innings.
Arrieta has had a woeful season and hasn't been able to turn things around since being acquired by the Padres last month. The veteran hurler has allowed at least three earned runs in each of his last five appearances dating back to his time with the Cubs as well, and he owns an 8.25 ERA through three outings with San Diego.
