ManTech's Sandeep Shilawat: Government Should Prepare for Next Cloud Disruption - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Sandeep Shilawat, vice president for cloud and edge computing at ManTech International, said the U.S. government and its procurement process should prepare for and keep up with the next wave of cloud disruption to maintain the country’s edge over adversaries.

Shilawat outlined in an article published Tuesday some of his near-term predictions in the field of cloud computing and one of those is the proliferation of multicloud environments.

“Multi-cloud environments will become the norm, rather than the exception,” he wrote.

He said he expects cloud to see an exponential growth and that cloud consortiums will emerge among providers that will help manage cloud traffic.

Shilawat talked about the concepts of “AI singularity” and “Cloud Everywhere” as edge computing and smart, connected devices become more prevalent. He also discussed how 5G technology and other capabilities will further drive cloud adoption.
