COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a stellar career in the pool with the Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim program, 2015 alumnus Brittany Geyer was selected as a finalist for the College Swimming Coaches Association of America 100 Greatest Swimmer, the CSCAA announced Tuesday.

Geyer was selected as the lone Stevens representative from either program after winning three National Championships and earning All-America honors 13 times in her career, nine of which came in individual events.

"It's such an honor to be selected for this recognition!" Geyer said. "It's a culmination of the hard work put in when I was swimming at Stevens. 100 years is a long time so to be selected for this award across all three NCAA Divisions was an awesome and welcome surprise."

In her first season on Castle Point, Geyer became just the second NCAA National Champion in school history by taking home the crown in the 200-yard breaststroke. The four-time Empire 8 Swimmer of the Year also took fifth in the 100-breast, eighth in the 200-IM and was a part of a pair of relays that both finished inside the top-10. She helped the Ducks finish in fifth in the country which remains the best finish in program history.

Geyer's sophomore season saw her take home bronze in both the 100- and 200-breast as well as eighth in the 200-IM to become a then-six-time All-American. She fueled Stevens to a seventh-place finish for the program's third consecutive top-10 finish.

In her junior year, Geyer added another All-America honor to her ledger with a seventh-place finish in the 100-IM. The Ducks finished in 12th place as a team as Geyer also qualified for the championships in the 200- and 100-breast.

Geyer saved the best for last in her illustrious career, winning two National titles at the 2015 DIII National Championships. The Brunswick, Ohio, native took the crown in the 100- and 200-breast, shattering the program record in both events. She remains the lone three-time NCAA National Champion in the history of the Stevens swimming program.

To this day, Geyer holds the program's top times in the 100-breast, the 200-breast, the 200-IM and the 400-IM. She was also a part of the program record setting times for the 200- and 400-medley relay.

She was selected as one of 973 finalists out of 2,805 nominees, dating back more than 100 years, for the accolade. She will now go to a Blue-Ribbon Panel of voters who will be charged with narrowing the selections to 100 men and 100 women.

"Stevens swimming was such a big part of my life," Geyer said. "I made some really great friends who I still talk to today, and I met my husband on the team. The fun times we had are what I remember most about being at Stevens."

Geyer graduated from Stevens in 2015 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and then received her Master of Engineering from Stevens in 2020.
