Montgomery County reported 459 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the last couple of days (September 11-13th) bringing the total number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases to 64,574 countywide since March 7, 2020.

There are currently 119 people hospitalized in Montgomery County hospitals due to severe COVID-19 symptoms. Of those COVID-19 patients, 14 people are on ventilators.

There were no new COVID-19 deaths reported in Montgomery County during September 11-13th, 2021.

The current total deaths are numbered at 1,348 in Montgomery County, since March 7, 2020.

• The COVID-19 vaccine is available for everyone age 16 and over who lives or works in Montgomery County, as well as the Pfizer vaccine for teens aged 12-15.

Pennsylvania COVID-19 Update of New Positive Cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 3,732 new positive cases of COVID-19 over the last week, bringing the statewide total to 1,354,451 cases.

There are 2,239 people currently hospitalized due to severe COVID-19 symptoms, with 551 of those people in intensive care.

As of Monday, September 13^th, there were 83 new COVID-19 deaths reported across the state, bringing the State’s total death registry to 28,651.

Vaccine highlights

Federal data representing all 67 counties:

• According to the CDC, as of Monday, Sept. 13, Pennsylvania ranks 5th among all 50 states for total doses administered.
• According to the CDC, as of Monday, Sept. 13, 67.2% of Pennsylvanians age 18 and older are fully vaccinated.

Statewide data representing the 66 counties within the Department of Health’s vaccine jurisdiction:

• Pennsylvania’s vaccine dashboard was updated to more accurately reflect the number of people who are partially and fully vaccinated in each county outside of Philadelphia, along with demographics of those receiving vaccine.
• For state-to-state comparisons, refer to the CDC vaccine data tracker.
• Vaccine providers have administered 12,461,424 total vaccine doses, including 57,183 additional doses authorized for people who are immunocompromised, as of Tuesday, Sept. 14.
• 6,073,683 people are fully vaccinated; with 19,293 vaccinations administered since Friday and a seven-day moving average of more than 14,600 people per day receiving vaccinations.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance to wearing a mask where required by law, rules, and regulations, including healthcare, local business, and workplace guidance.

For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

• Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
• Cover any coughs or sneezes with your elbow, not your hands.
• Clean surfaces frequently.
• Stay home to avoid spreading COVID-19, especially if you are unwell.
• If you must go out, please wear a mask when in a business or where it is difficult to maintain proper social distancing.
