Like NASCAR, as the National Hockey League continues to grow, so does the sponsorships, and now the Meijer's logo will now be found on Redwings helmets.

Companies like Nike, Adidas and Under Armour, have been seen on teams jerseys in all sports for quite some time. You see the stadiums on TV or in person with sponsorship logos wrapped around the field, court, rink or in the stands. It takes a lot of money to run these teams and stadiums and sponsorships help pay for these events.

Well now the Detroit Red Wings are taking it a step further by making a sponsorship deal with the Meijer Corporation which will allow Meijer's logo to be on all the helmets for the team. The camera's at games focus on the players so this is a huge sponsorship opportunity for Meijer.

According to FOX 17, the first time you will get a look at the new Redwings helmets will be at the NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City. Meijer's logo will be found on home, away and practice helmets and will be seen on both sides of each.

If you are a huge Redwings fan, and you happen to score a ticket for their game against the New Jersey Devils, December 18, make sure you are one of the first 10,000 fans to enter Little Caesars Arena and you will get a Christmas ornament that is a replica of the Red Wings helmet to hang on your tree.

In honor of the partnership, the first 10,000 fans for the game on Saturday, Dec. 18 will be a holiday ornament with a replica of the Red Wings helmet.
