Lizzo, Tiffany Haddish, Lil Nas X join 'Proud Family' revival in guest roles

Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Lizzo, Tiffany Haddish, Lil Nas X, Chance the Rapper, Lena Waithe and more will be guest stars on Disney+'s upcoming revival of animated series The Proud Family.

Normani, Leslie Odom Jr., Anthony Anderson, Gabrielle Union, Debbie Allen, James Pickens Jr., Courtney B. Vance, Jane Lynch, Marsai Martin, Jaden Smith, Glynn Turman, Lamorne Morris, Brenda Song, Tina Knowles, Eva Longoria, Holly Robinson Peete, Al Rooker, Bretman Rock, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez and Dominque Dawes have also been set as guest stars.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will come to Disney+ in 2022. Disney announced the guest stars in honor of the show's 20th anniversary.

"It was so relatable, it was very specific, it looked like our families and it was irreverent," Waithe said in a new video from Disney+ featuring stars old and new discussing what the original series meant to them.

Kyla Pratt will be reprising her role as Penny Proud in the revival, along with Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby, Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Maria Canals-Barrera as Sunset Boulvardez, Alvaro Gutierrez as Papi, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer and Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez.

Recurring voice stars include Keke Palmer, Billy Porter, Zachary Quinto and El Johnson.
