Here’s the longlist for the 2021 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature.
Today, the National Book Foundation announced their longlist for the 2021 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature. This year’s longlist includes books by two previous National Book Award longlisters, Kekla Magoon and Anna-Marie McLemore, as well as two novels in verse, and multiple books that investigate American history, race, gender, and family.
This year’s judges for the National Book Award in Young People’s Literature are Pablo Cartaya, Traci Chee, Leslie Connor, Cathryn Mercier, and Ibi Zoboi. The finalists will be announced on October 5, and the winners will be honored at the 72nd National Book Awards Ceremony on November 17.
