Chris Hemsworth has been synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe much like his colleagues Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans and while his future in the franchise was in doubt for quite some time, Avengers: Endgame pretty much sealed the deal with Thor and we'll get to see the God of Thunder in upcoming projects, including Thor: Love and Thunder and potentially, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

But could you imagine what would happen if Hemsworth actually jumped ship to the DC Extended Universe? Apparently, there's a huge possibility that it could actually happen. According to a new scoop from the folks over at Giant Freakin Robot, Warner Bros. is quite adamant about getting the tenured MCU star and bringing him to the DCEU. However, the specifics of his rumored jump are still unclear and the website's source claims that the Australian actor is definitely being eyed by the studio.

As it stands, we still don't know the extent of Chris' current MCU contract but it's safe to assume that Thor will remain in the franchise at least until Avengers 5. That's not to say though that Hemsworth can't pull double duty and appear on both franchises because he's not exclusive to Marvel anyway.

If the rumors of him making the DCEU jump are actually true, it'll be interesting to see which character he ends up getting cast as, and quite frankly, it'll be tricky to find him a popular DC character that would suit him. I'm saying this because in the event that they give him a lesser-known character, it would feel like a huge downgrade given that he's currently playing one of the most iconic heroes in all of the comic books.

Meanwhile, Thor: Love and Thunder will hit cinemas in 2022.
