Monday’s meeting included an appearance by State Sen. Tom Takubo, the Republican majority leader, who is also a doctor. Both State Sen. Tabuko and Gov. Justice talked about the importance of getting the vaccine. The mother of one of State Sen. Tabuko’s patients shared a story about her, her son and her husband all get COVID-19. While she and her husband were fully vaccinated, her son was not — causing the son to be hospitalized while she and her husband were fine.
