Yeah mm. Uh huh. It is awesome. You know we have both done funerals for veterans where it's us in the family. So to see this today people lined up on the road coming to the cemetery all the way here is just amazing. It's heart touching it when I walked up. Uh so so good. It felt good to see that the community is able to come out and help support a fellow fellow soldier uh volunteers to my uh Yeah. Mhm. No. Yeah. Yeah.

A military veteran with no known family was laid to rest on Tuesday at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.Charles York was a Vietnam War veteran of both the Navy and the Marines.Fort Sill National Cemetery asked for people to attend his funeral because York had no known relatives. He was surrounded by hundreds of strangers paying their respects.“No veteran should be buried alone. Every veteran should be remembered,” Billy Hope told KSWO. “That’s why this is important. A military veteran with no known family was laid to rest on Tuesday at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.

Charles York was a Vietnam War veteran of both the Navy and the Marines.

Fort Sill National Cemetery asked for people to attend his funeral because York had no known relatives. He was surrounded by hundreds of strangers paying their respects.

“No veteran should be buried alone. Every veteran should be remembered,” Billy Hope told KSWO. “That’s why this is important. Today, this veteran has a family. That family is us.”
