By Francisco Salazar

On Oct. 10 and 11, Will Liverman is set to perform at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City.

The baritone will give solo recitals alongside pianist Myra Huang and will spotlight the works of Black composers and writers, in addition to works from the traditional classical music canon including three Strauss pieces, “Wie sollten wir geheim sie halten,” “Traum durch die Dämmerung,” and “Zueignung.” Liverman will also perform the song cycle “Don Quichotte à Dulcinée” by Ravel as well as songs by Brian McKnight arranged by Liverman. Additional will be announced later.

The recital comes as the Liverman prepares to star in the lead role of the Metropolitan Opera’s re-opening production of Terence Blanchard’s “Fire Shut Up In My Bones;” he will appear as Papageno in the holiday production of “The Magic Flute.” Liverman recently released “Dreams of a New Day: Songs by Black Composers” with pianist Paul Sanchez, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Traditional Classical chart.

In order to attend the Park Avenue Armory recital, all ticket-holders must be fully vaccinated and will be required to show proof of full vaccination. Masks are required in the building at all times.
