Adrienne Warren and Cast of ‘Tina’ Perform ‘Private Dancer’ on ‘Fallon’: Watch

When Tina Turner staged her solo return in 1984 with the Private Dancer album, it was one of the greatest comebacks of all time.

The story and career of the living legend is retold in Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, starring Adrienne Warren in the titular role.

With Warren front and center, the audience glides through more than three tumultuous decades, from Tina’s humble Tennessee roots through her abusive first marriage to that glorious reinvention.

The musical is set for its Broadway comeback on Oct. 8, and so it was fitting that Warren performed “Private Dancer” with the cast on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Warren will soon rotate out, with original cast member Nkeki Obi-Melekwe to play the rock legend.
