Princess and Trudy are the featured pets of the week at Monroe County Animal Shelter.
Princess is a 2-year-old torbie female who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. The shelter was told that she was a stray that they had been feeding and once she became a mother, they could no longer keep and care for her. She arrived at the shelter with one adorable fuzzy kitten that has already been adopted.
Trudy is a 1-year-old dilute calico who is beyond sweet. She has a soft chirp of a meow and will politely ask for attention. She loves to be held and snuggled. Trudy enjoys playing and treats and would be best in an environment where her gentle, sweet nature is appreciated.
Shelter hours are 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at 170 Kefauver Lane in Madisonville behind Walmart. Appointments can be scheduled for meet and greets for adoptable animals. Please contact 423-442-1015 or animal.shelter@monroetn.com to make arrangements. All adoptable pets can be seen online at www.monroecountyfriendsofanimals.org.

Microchipping is available at the Monroe County Animal Shelter for $10.

The Spay Neuter Assistance for Pets program offers free vouchers to qualifying families. Residents of Loudon County can visit http://www.spaytennessee.org to find other options.
