Chattanooga Police have arrested a man accused of throwing a homemade explosive at someone's house.
Officers say Curtis McClain drove past the home and threw a Molotov cocktail out of his truck window on South Orchard Knob Avenue early Tuesday morning.
Police say it caught a small patch of grass on fire.
CPD says the homeowner told them he and McClain had arguments in the past. He said it included an instance where McClain set his front porch on fire.
Police say they were told McClain was seen driving on Foust Street. Police say McClain saw police and drove in reverse at a high rate of speed to get away from officers.
CPD says officers tried to stop McClain on South Hawthorne Street and a chase ensued. The arrest report says McClain almost caused several crashed during the pursuit.
Officers say McClain tried to turn on South Hickey Street at East 28th Street. However, they say he ended up driving through a chain-link fence.
Police say McClain then ran through several businesses and jumped fences. Officers say they found him hiding in a tree and took him into custody.
Curtis McClain is charged with aggravated assault, arson, possession of explosive components, evading arrest, leaving the scene and reckless driving.
