COLLEGE FOOTBALL, USA -- The College Football Playoff could be looking at some chaos this season with the potential for an array of one-loss teams in a season when two playoff regulars -- Clemson and Ohio State -- have already dropped a game.

Could the end of the season be as confusing as 2007? Quite possible.

On the latest press conference episode of The College Football Playoff Show, the question of whether a one-loss Clemson team or one-loss Ohio State team would be in better shape for the playoff was addressed by Doug Lesmerises and Shehan Jeyarajah.

Also tackled off the bat was the Monday firing of USC coach Clay Helton, and the idea of another big-time coach who might be the best fit for the Trojans. It’s Penn State’s James Franklin, and could he lead the Nittany Lions in a playoff chase this season and be the right guy to fix the Trojans starting next season?

Among other questions from text subscribers (text 817-442-6789 to get a free text trial):

  • What actually happened to the Buckeyes in their loss at Oregon?
  • Could UCLA-Oregon turn into a vital playoff matchup?
  • With so much going on for supposed contenders, it is possible that Alabama and Georgia are the only actually good teams?
