Ohio Wrestling Announces 2021-22 Schedule

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling team released their 2021-22 season schedule today (Sept. 14), as announced by 25th-year head coach Joel Greenlee. The season will unofficially kick off with the Green vs. White Duel on Oct. 30, with a location and time still to be determined.

The Bobcats will open the regular season in East Lansing, as they travel to compete in the Michigan State Open on Nov. 6, with a scheduled start time at 9 a.m. Ohio will stay on the road for their next three events, as they compete against Presbyterian and N.C. State (Nov. 13, 11 a.m.), in the Navy Classic (Nov. 20), and then travel to take on Clarion (Dec. 3, 7 p.m.). 

December will begin on Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. as West Virginia visits Athens, before the Bobcats hit the road to take on Bellarmine on Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. Ohio will finish out the 2021 portion of the schedule with two multi team events. Ohio will compete against Gardner-Webb, George Mason, and Campbell in Boiling Springs, N.C. on Dec. 19 starting at 12 p.m., and then partake in the Midlands Championships on Dec. 29-30 in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

2022 competition will start on Jan. 4, as the Indiana Hoosiers visit Athens, scheduled to start at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will then have 11 days off before hitting the road to take on Northern Illinois on Jan. 15, also at 7 p.m. The United States Naval Academy comes to Athens on Jan. 22 (11 a.m.), followed by Davidson on Jan. 23 (1 p.m.), before Ohio travels to Central Michigan to finish out the month on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m.

Ohio takes on four teams in February to finish the regular season, as they travel to Kent State (Feb. 4, 7 p.m.) and Cleveland State (Feb. 5, 1 p.m.), before returning to the Convo to take on Southern Illinois (Feb. 12, 7 p.m.) and Buffalo (Feb. 19, 7 p.m.)

For postseason competition, the MAC Tournament will be hosted by Ohio University at the Convo on March 4-5, and the NCAA Tournament will be held in Detroit, Mich. from March 17-19.
