Shots Fired in Bay Ridge – 87th and 5th Avenue
Around 1:15 pm, gun shots were fired on 5th Avenue and 87th Street in Bay Ridge early this afternoon.
Two men wanted to kill one guy. See the video of the shooting here This is a video from the other side of the street – see here. A window on the apartment above Lonestar was broken by a stray bullet (See here) and the door frame of their store. How scary….we are lucky this situation wasn’t deadly because there were people outside of Lonestar.
The video is so fast and if the shooter had better aim, more lives would have been changed.
They are shooting in our neighborhood in the early afternoon! Thankfully, children were still in school at that time. The two men didn’t fear getting caught or going to jail.
Councilman Brannan said that men were looking for someone at the barber shop. (See here) The whole area is sectioned off. (See here)
Brannan thought an arrest was coming soon, but no one was arrested.
The Citizen App shows video of the 68th Precinct officers investigating (it also says there was additional shots heard at 82nd Street. (See here)
Thankfully, no one was killed.
