From today’s Down in Alabama podcast:

CareerCloud used data to determine that the state of Alabama has 1.1 jobs open for every 1 person looking for a job.

Which works out, because how many of y’all feel like you’re working at least 1.1 jobs?

The District of Columbia actually has a larger labor shortage than any state. In DC there are 2.37 openings for every unemployed person.

(Incidentally, that’s not taking into account any employed people in D.C. who aren’t getting a job done.)

More on the labor shortage on today’s news briefing. We also have what Alabama’s preparing to do about the president’s COVID vaccine mandates and why Facebook says it took down Gov. Kay Ivey’s page.
