Guitar wizard Steve Vai sets Packard performance

Guitar wizard Steve Vai is coming to Packard Music Hall on March 8, 2022.

The three-time Grammy winner started working with Frank Zappa as a teenager and had toured and recorded with David Lee Roth and Whitesnake in addition to his solo career. He’s also collaborated with fellow guitar players Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Lukather in the rotating lineups of G3.

He also is the author of “Vaideology: Basic Music Theory for Guitar Players.”

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show, which is part of a 54-date tour announced this morning, range from $52 to $88 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Packard box office and through Ticketmaster. An online-only presale runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday with the password: PACKARD.
