Two deputies involved in crash during police pursuit in Kanawha County

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) —
The northbound lanes of I-77, by the Westmoreland exit, were shut down Tuesday night after two Kanawha County deputies were involved in a crash during a police chase.

Deputies said South Charleston police officers attempted to stop a driver for a routine traffic violation on I-64 near Dunbar when the driver refused to stop.
Kanawha County deputies assisted with backup during the chase. The chase continued to the Westmoreland exit when the deputies crashed.
The deputies were not seriously hurt.
The driver was able to get away after the crash.
