Most stories in the bible must have some origin of truth. Embellishing these stories with the supernatural is simply a way to add importance to the stories for the benefit of primitive people. There is no scientific evidence that the realm of the supernatural exists. There is no scientific evidence that anyone on earth has been given the authority to speak for or represent an alleged creator. Religion was created by humans to control people and make money. There is no scientific evidence that an alleged creator supports any religion, past or present. The biggest lie is when someone tells you that God speaks to them or they speak for or represent an alleged creator.

I was raised a Christian in a science oriented family. I read the bible. After all the decades of my life my conclusion is this: the bible was written by men, who had ulterior motives. It's the only written history we have of that time and people. It is not necessarily historically correct, and is full of parables and guidance on how to live a good Christian life. I strongly suspect that Jesus was an actual person and if so was quite a force of nature. I believe certain power hungry men invented the whole savior/died and rose from the dead mythology to cement their own power. More atrocities have been commited in the name of religion, including Jesus and God, than any other.
