Applying foundation is something that most women do daily, and many of us feel like we have mastered it. However, we cannot always get the glowy, sunkissed, smooth-skinned look that we are going for every time.

TikTok is a wonderful place, though, and there are many methods on the app that teaches us how to do all of the things that we have been trying to figure out since we started doing our makeup as young girls. This particular method gives you beautiful skin that doesn’t even look like you’re wearing makeup.

If you want a flawless no-makeup-looking foundation, wetting your foundation might be the answer.

Why Wet Your Foundation

TikTok has taught us everything from how to get nail polish to dry quickly to how to get our makeup to last all day under a face mask, and we are here for it. Having beauty gurus at our fingertips has allowed us to level up dramatically.

This hack is yet another makeup tip that will help you go from a cakey and crusty foundation to a flawless, airbrushed finish that will leave your skin looking naturally glowy and gorgeous.

If the foundation is an aspect of your makeup that you always struggle with, this hack is the perfect solution for you.

How To Do It

This technique does take a little longer than it ordinarily would to do your makeup, but the results are all worth it. You will need to start by priming your skin as usual. Apply your moisturizers and eye creams, and then apply a makeup primer.

Once you have done that, you can begin the foundation process. You will need a makeup mixing palette for this. Apply your foundation to a mixing palette and then dampen it down with setting spray. Bounce this in a thin layer onto your face with a beauty sponge.

After applying the foundation, apply some concealer to the mixing palette and repeat the setting spray process. Bounce the concealer out on the palette for a while, and then apply it to your face.

You should repeat the above processes until you have the desired amount of coverage from your skin and then set your face with a thin layer of powder where you applied concealer and a little blush.

Bottom Line

This foundation process is quite complicated and might take some getting used to getting the ratios right so that your foundation doesn’t end up too runny and the layers don’t look caked-on.

However, once you get it right, it will feel as if you are living in a beauty filter, and you will have only TikTok to thank.
