The Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday signed Damion Square to their practice squad, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He terminated his contract with the Chicago Bears’ practice squad earlier in the day.

The move was made as Gerald McCoy exited the Raiders’ win over the Baltimore Ravens on “Monday Night Football” with an apparent hamstring injury. His status for Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers has not been revealed.

A 9-year NFL pro and a 3-time national champion with the Crimson Tide during his time in Tuscaloosa, Square had signed with both the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints in the 2021 offseason, only for him and the teams to part ways. He ultimately landed on the Bears’ practice squad on Sept. 8 before he opted to terminate his contract on Tuesday.

Now, he’s landed with the Raiders, where he hopes to remain at least for a while.
