Julio Jones’ first game with the Tennessee Titans could have gone better.

The Arizona Cardinals came to Nissan Stadium and blew out the Titans, 38-13, on Sunday. The Cardinals opened up a 24-6 halftime lead and never looked back as Kyler Murray threw for 4 touchdowns and ran for a 5th.

As for Jones, he had just 3 catches for 29 yards, failing to find the end zone. His tenure with the Atlanta Falcons ended on a sour note, so the former Alabama great will be looking for a fresh start in Nashville.

Unfortunately, Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel had some pointed criticism for Jones following the game. With the Titans facing a 3rd and 1 in the 1st quarter, Jones committed a personal foul, meaning they would need to convert a 3rd and 16.

Vrabel didn’t hold back in his Monday media availability.

“That’s absolutely nothing that we coach or teach,” he said. “That would fall into the category of doing dumb (expletive) that hurts the team.”

It’s rather obvious that Jones has started his 2021 NFL season on the wrong foot. Hopefully he’ll turn things around and avoid being called out again by his head coach.
