Mavericks Finish 13th at Wildcat Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Omaha opened the fall season with a 13th place finish at Kansas State. 

In the third round on Tuesday the Mavericks shot 313, finishing the invite with a total score of 942. Winning the tournament and scoring 864 is Sam Houston State. Kansas State and Kansas City placed second and third with scores of 873 and 880, respectively. 

Senior Mathew Halvorson led Omaha in scoring with 227, finishing in a tie for 31st place on the individual leaderboard. 

Jacob Zerby finished in second place on the team and tied for 49th overall. Shooting two over in the final round for a score of 74, he ends the tournament with a total score of 235. 

Noah Hartman tied for 56th place with a score of 237. Jack Tickle finished 72nd on the individual rankings, shooting 252 through three rounds. 

Freshman Kurtis Rodriguez tied for 67th place in his first collegiate tournament. Finishing with a score of 245. 

Playing individually, Carter Doose finished with a score of 229. He shot three over in the final round for a score of 75. He finished in a tie for 38th place. 

The Mavericks return to action on Monday and Tuesday, September 27-28 at the Derek Dolenc Invitational at SIUE.
