A big, energetic crowd joined Republicans at the State House Tuesday to protest President Joe Biden’s federal vaccine mandate on businesses with more than 100 employees.“Almost every person in this state, in the country, is short of workers and yet now we have a president that says he’s for the people, for the workers, but he wants to have thousands, millions of workers fired for not taking a vaccine,” Republican House Speaker Rep. Sherman Packard said. But the outrage overwhelmed elected leaders with demands they do more to stop the mandate.Packard spoke to an angry crowd saying, “We’re trying to help you, but you need to help yourselves. You need to get ahold of the federal delegation, and you need to tell them. We’re out here to try and help you, and now you’re attacking us?”Protesters eventually commandeered the stage and launched their own speaking program. They made the same warning, that this mandate will decimate the workforce.“We are going to lose our hospitals in a matter of four weeks,” one protestor said.“Why are you still waiting? When is enough going to be enough? What is the line in the sand, other than being forced to inject something into your body,” another said.
