RVs are already filling the campgrounds around BMS. News 5 spoke with race fans and they said this race experience will offer some normalcy after last year's race.
Flags are flying and people are setting up their campers, ready to have some fun.
Jerry Rice from Weaverville, North Carolina says he has been to every race possible since 1963, and he is glad to make the trip after he was unable to last year.
"Well you know it was a big let down. Being back here for me this year is like Christmas Day or something," Rice said.
