Stacey D Maxey, 50, of Dahlgren, Illinois, passed away at 9:20 pm September 13, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born November 7, 1970, in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Andrew Jackson Dixon and Mary Frances Joslin. Stacey married Leonard Maxey on November 12, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In addition to her beloved husband of eight years, Stacey is survived by her sons, Clinton Maxey and wife, Regina of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Devin Rockett of Dahlgren, Illinois; daughters, Raquel Maxey and fiancé, Chad Bliffen of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Autumn Cross and husband, Justin of Dahlgren, Illinois; grandchildren, Tyler Maxey, Cassie Boester, Kirsten Hardig, Collin Maxey, Cadin Bliffen, Briella Bliffen, Faye Bliffen, Clayton Cross, Emma Cross, Rilynn Rockett; brothers, Steve Dixon, Barry Marquis and wife, Sandy, Kelly Stich and wife, Kathy, Tony Stich and wife, Misty; sister, Pamela Ford, and husband, Rod; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, Stacey was preceded in death by her sister, Jacque Gilbert; stepfather, Alvin Stich; and stepmother, Barb Dixon.
Stacey worked as a traveling registered nurse. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Stacey enjoyed traveling and she enjoyed gardening. She attended many churches and will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The family has requested that masks be required at the visitation. A Private Graveside Service will be held. Memorials may be made in Stacey’s honor to the Maxey family in the care of Leonard Maxey. They intend to make a donation to a charity of their choice.
