Oakland Athletics catcher Yan Gomes is not starting in Tuesday's contest against the Kansas City Royals.
Gomes will head to Oakland's bench after Sean Murphy was picked as Tuesday's catcher for Frankie Montas.
According to Baseball Savant on 239 batted balls this season, Gomes has produced a 7.9% barrel rate and a .283 expected average.
