Heyward was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Tuesday, retroactive to Sept. 12.
Heyward missed Sunday's series finale against the Giants after he took a knee to the head while sliding into second base Saturday, and he'll miss at least a week after he was diagnosed with a concussion. Nick Martini and Alfonso Rivas should see increased time in the outfield while Heyward is sidelined.
