16 points doesn’t get it done these days in the NFL, unless you’re playing the Green Bay Packers(Packers suck!) and it really doesn’t get it done if you’re playing a team with as many weapons as the Seattle Seahawks have.  It was yet another season opening loss for the Colts and while many assumed a Colts loss would be due to a rusty Carson Wentz, the QB threw for 251 yards, a pair of touchdowns and no interceptions.  It seemed this loss fell on head coach Frank Reich and a lack of aggressiveness when on offense, a hot topic on Tuesday’s edition of The Fan Morning Show as Kevin Bowen questioned the play-calling of the Colts head coach.

You’re playing the Seattle Seahawks.  You aren’t winning that game with kid gloves on Carson Wentz. I swear at one point half of his completions were screens. You have got to take some chances downfield and I put more of that on Reich.

KB also noted that despite an porous offensive line and his first real in-game action in quite some time, Carson Wentz was more than serviceable.

250 yards passing, two touchdowns, no interceptions.  If that’s the floor for Carson Wentz, it’s hard not to be encouraged by that.

With the high-powered Los Angeles Rams coming to town on Sunday it will be another test for the Colts offense to keep pace with Matthew Stafford and company.  Frank Reich is undefeated in Week 2 games so far in his Colts tenure, but the Rams showed plenty of big play potential in their 34-14 rout of the Chicago Bears.  If the Colts are unable to keep pace with the Rams it will not only put the team in an early 0-2 hole but put even more emphasis on their Week 3 showdown with the division rival Tennessee Titans.
