The Yankees won a Monday makeup game against the Minnesota Twins but are just 2-8 over their last 10 games. The New York offense has scuffled of late and the Yankees own a .660 OPS in their last 16 games.
Baltimore lost three of four games against Toronto over the weekend and was idle Monday. The three losses saw the Orioles cough up a combined 44 runs but that performance is just the tip of the iceberg. Baltimore has logged a 7.44 team ERA in going 8-30 since Aug. 3.
That 8-30 stretch includes Baltimore going 2-3 against these Yankees. Overall this season, New York has won nine of 16 games against the O’s and the Yanks have outscored the Birds 91-57.
