Harry’s Oyster Bar is set to shutter before the end of the month.

The Atlantic City seafood joint announced in a Facebook post its last day of operation will be Sept. 26. A reason was not given other than “we’ve come to the end of our lease.”

Harry’s is located at 1900 Pacific Ave., on the lower level of Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino. It opened back in 2011.

The seafood restaurant features a raw bar, as well as chowders, salads, sandwiches, fish and specialty dishes.

Frank Dougherty and Maureen Shay opened Harry’s to honor Frank’s great-grandfather, Harry “Dock” Dougherty, who opened Dock’s Oyster House in 1897.

Dougherty and Shay also own Knife & Fork Inn and Dougherty’s Steakhouse & Raw Bar in Atlantic City and Linwood Country Club in Linwood.

The restaurant said on Facebook that gift cards to Harry’s can be redeemed at any of those other four Dougherty-owned restaurants.

Future plans for the space occupied by Harry’s at Bally’s have yet to be announced.

“Harry’s Oyster House was a great partner, and we wish the Dougherty family continued success with their outstanding restaurants,” Bally’s told NJ Advance Media. “We continue to seek unique opportunities to enhance our guest experience and look forward to introducing a new indoor/outdoor entertainment concept.”
