Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers got shredded by the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. While the mental toll on Matt LaFleur's squad took a hit with the loss, apparently Aaron Rodgers took a physical beating as well that wasn't first noticed.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show during his weekly appearance, Rodgers said he took a shot down low during his first interception toss against the Saints.

“For those of you who went back and watched it…I don't like to make a lot of excuses for interceptions…That was entirely due to the double nut shot I took.”

Rodgers kept things loose and lighthearted in his appearance and didn't seem too concerned with the Packers' 0-1 start. The nature of the loss, being by 35 points, stunned most of the NFL world.

Green Bay will have a chance to bounce back against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football in Week 2 and they will be looking to piece together a lot of the puzzle.

The offense was miserable for the Packers against the Saints and Joe Barry rolled out one of the most vanilla schemes defensively that contributed big time to the blowout. And now we know Rodgers took a shot to the seeds, adding a cherry on top of what was an abysmal Week 1.

Maybe Rodgers will “cup up” in Week 2 to prevent this from happening again. Perhaps the offensive line will hold up better as well. Either way, the jewels of the reigning MVP in the league need to be better protected moving forward.
