Japhet Tanganga, who played at centre back against Crystal Palace on Saturday, is suspended following his red card at Selhurst Park.

There is hope that Eric Dier will be fit for the game against Chelsea after he limped off with a dead leg against Palace, but there will be more clarity over his situation closer to the game.

But the potential availability of Romero and Sanchez gives Nuno options in defence, though it remains to be seen whether the Spurs boss is prepared to throw the Argentine pair straight into action just a day after arriving back.
