WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A woman is facing murder charges Tuesday after troopers say a body was found inside her home, concealed in a trash bag.

According to West Virginia State Police, the body of Tina Adkins, 58, was discovered inside a trash bag at the home of Carrie Nicole Ramey, 28, Tuesday morning.

Officials say family members of Adkins made the gruesome discovery.

On Tuesday, troopers from Wayne and Cabell Counties were called out to Berry Branch Drive in Branchland, located off Raccoon Road in Wayne County.

According to state police, Adkins was reported missing from the location Sunday.

Troopers say Ramey confessed to murdering Adkins and concealing her body inside the home.

Ramey was arrested for murder and concealment of a deceased body, troopers report.

West Virginia State Police tells WSAZ.com a missing persons investigation has turned into a death investigation.

A heavy police presence has been reported along Raccoon Creek Road near Beech Fork.

No further information has been released at this time.
