Dying Light 2: Stay Human Delayed to 2022

Another game has been added to the list of releases moving from this year into the next. This time the game is Techland’s long-awaited Dying Light 2: Stay Human. The company took to Twitter today to break the news to fans and offer the reason for doing so.

According to their note, the game is actually “complete” at this point in time and they are currently in the playtesting stage of the project. As most gamers probably know when it comes to open-world projects there is usually a lot of bugs in the game that the team might have to be content with before they can release something they are satisfied with. They ultimately state that they need more time to polish and optimize it, in hopes of reaching the level of emersion they want.

Players can now expect the game to release on February 4, 2022. This is turning out to be a crowded month as the new Saints Row reboot and Horizon: Forbidden West are also set to launch during that month. The January leading into it is also crowded, with release dates for Elden Ring as well as Rainbow Six: Extraction.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human was in development for years but after its initial showcases remained dark for some time. It returned this year during a series of live stream events to announce a release date as well as offer more insight for players as to what they can expect.

Set 20 years after the events of the first game it will feature a world plagued by the zombies of the original title. Your character arrives in an unnamed European city and becomes involved with multiple factions around the city that are fighting for control. The game is built on choice with your character able to influence these factions, ultimately changing the power structure around the city.
