Once again, we are asking the San Francisco Giants to lose one game. It seems every time the Los Angeles Dodgers catch fire, it coincides with a run from their division rivals as well.

LA still trails San Fran for the NL West lead by 2.5 games. The Giants have won eight straight, which began with a series victory over the Dodgers in their final meeting of 2021. Hey Padres, wanna do us a favor? One time?

The Dodgers took the first game of their series against the Diamondbacks on Monday night and certainly need to sweep this three-game set before they run into the Cincinnati Reds this weekend. The Giants will get the Braves after their series with the Pads.

Anyway, the focus for the Dodgers is Arizona on Tuesday night. Let’s take a look at the betting preview, which heavily favors LA due to how bad the D-Backs have been over the last three weeks.

The over/under for total runs scored is 8.5, with the over at -116 (bet $116 to win $100) and the under at -105 (bet $105 to win $100).

Dodgers Pitcher Today

It’ll be Tony Gonsolin (2-1, 2.79 ERA) vs Luke Weaver (3-4, 4.24 ERA) on Tuesday night. Gonsolin has faced the D-Backs three times out of his 11 outings this season, and was successful in his first two outings. However, during the last one on July 30, he allowed two runs on one hit and five walks in just 1.2 innings of work. The Dodgers lost that game, 6-5. This will be his second outing since then. He just came off the IL on Sept. 9.

Conversely, Weaver hasn’t faced the Dodgers yet this year in his 10 outings, and this will be just his third start since May 16.

Dodgers vs Diamondbacks Prediction Today

If the Dodgers offense goes to work, there will be no problem on Tuesday. However, that unit’s been inconsistent, so we’ll venture to say Gonsolin can’t afford to dig himself into a hole early, which has been a far too common narrative in his outings this season. If he can get through three frames unscathed, it’ll be a success.

Dodgers win, 7-3.
