People are asking Kim Kardashian’s make-up artist ‘was it worth it’ after she turned up with full face-covering

It was arguably one of the Met’s most meme-worthy moments of the night: Kim Kardashian’s (questionable) attire.

Kardashian wore a stand-out Balenciaga haute couture gown, complete with a long black train and full-face covering.

Naturally, the outfit was a catalyst for a Twitter frenzy, with some comparing the look to that of Harry Potter’s dementors or, more specifically, a ‘sleep paralysis demon.’

After a night of wild, yet hilarious, comparisons, the attention has since moved away from what the reality star was wearing. Instead, people want to know more about her face under the mask.

Kardashian’s make-up artist, Mario Badescu, posted a series of snaps to his Instagram (@makeupbymario) in the run-up to the Met Gala to showcase his glam skills.

While impressive, one Twitter user was quick to highlight what everyone was thinking:

‘Was it worth it, Mario ????? Was it ????’

Just as everyone had started to get over last night’s bizarre outfit, the tweet reignited an influx of humorous responses.

‘That’s like having a perfect Brazilian wax and then wearing your grannies undies’, one joked, while another suggested to ‘turn the outfit inside out’ to find out.

What may seem like hours wasted in hair and make up for the Met, Mario’s work was eventually unveiled to the world after Kardashian unmasked herself for Justin Bieber’s after-party in New York.

The 40-year-old donned yet another all-black Balenciaga Catwoman-inspired look – and left the face-covering at home. Instead, she remained incognito with a pair of sunglasses with her face partially visible.
