What If...? New Trailer Unveils Return of Doctor Strange Supreme

The first five episodes of What If...? that aired so far gave us an alternate universe look at some of the moments in the main MCU timeline including the Avengers becoming zombies, Peggy Carter taking the super-soldier serum, and Doctor Strange's transformation into an evil sorcerer named Strange Supreme. Now, we have a look at what's about to come in the rest of the season.

Marvel Studios has released the mid-season trailer for the remaining episodes of the first season of What If...? which included recaps on some of the events in the previous installments and a first look at what's in store in the upcoming episodes. The biggest revelation however in the trailer is the apparent return of the characters that we met in the first five episodes and a tease on their team-up which seems to be the universe's version of the Avengers.

Some of the characters who will make their return in the upcoming episodes according to the trailer are Doctor Strange Supreme (who appeared in the fourth episode) and Captain Carter (who appeared in the first episode that launched the series). The trailer teases a scene between Strange Supreme and Party Thor where they seem to be on friendly terms. We also saw Captain Carter fighting alongside the Avengers against a threat that looks like an army of Ultrons. They also recreated the iconic scene from the first Avengers film where they stand together while a camera circles around them.

Also set to make their appearance in the upcoming episodes according to the trailer are Killmonger, Gamora, Grandmaster, Korg, Pepper Potts, Shuri, Black Widow, Iron Man, T'Challa/Star-Lord, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Ego, and many more.

It is not clear yet however if the upcoming episodes are direct continuations of the previous installments that already aired, but it is highly likely that it is the case. There's also a possibility that perhaps the Watcher broke his code and intervened in the events so that the characters could team up. We will find out soon enough.

What If...? streams every Wednesday exclusively on Disney+.
