Jack Wilshere says he will 'have a conversation' with Arsenal about training with his beloved club after boss Mikel Arteta hinted at the prospect last week.

'I think that it can only help me. As you said, being a round good players, training with world-class players and, as well, just being in a team environment is something that I am interested in.

'I am sure that I will have a conversation with someone at the club over the next couple of days.'

Wilshere, 29, played alongside Arteta at the Emirates from 2011-2016, with the pair winning two FA Cup trophies together.

Last week, prior to the 1-0 win against Norwich on Saturday, Arteta said: He is someone that I know who I shared the dressing room with, who is so loved around the club with every person here and our doors are always open.'

Wilshere is still a fans' favourite at Arsenal, where he made 197 first-team appearances in total.

He played 18 times for a Bournemouth side who reached the Championship play-offs last season.

He also has 34 England caps to his name but his career has taken a turn for the worse in recent years due to a lack of fitness and numerous injuries.
