Chocolate Orange dominated 2020 with all of our favourite brands bringing out reinventions of their treats in the popular flavour. If anyone thought it would die down into 2021, they were sorely mistaken as demand for the combination saw no sign of slowing down, and brands didn't disappoint.
Initially launching with flavours like Colin and Billionaires cake, followed up with Percy of course, M&S' cake jars have been a roaring success. And now there is a new pot in the line up.
M&S shared the latest addition to Instragram, with mouthwatering photos from @sweetreviewsuk.
The retailer wrote; "Introducing the newest member to our cake jar family – Chocolate Orange! 🍊 🍫 Decadent layers of chocolate sponge cake, with generous dollops of smooth orange flavoured chocolate ganache, tangy orange curd and crunchy milk chocolate biscuit balls 😍 This perfect Christmassy combination of chocolate and orange is perfect for a festive first bite! YUM 🎄🤩"
@sweetreviewsuk Were in there like a flash with their review of the new treat, telling followers; "Obviously we should have known this was in the pipeline as who wouldn't want a chocolate and orange cake jar?! 🤣"
And it seems the supermarkets latest jar got the snack connoisseurs seal of approval.
The page wrote in the caption; "The chocolate sponge and ganache are super sweet and could come across as too much, but the orange curd is sharp and cuts through the sweetness giving it a good balance! For any chocolate orange fan this is pretty much the ultimate! This is super intense and should last a good couple of evenings at least...🙄🤣 Yeah alright?! 🤪"
