EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Martin Fowler will soon be left devastated by Ruby Allen as he receives some shock news.

Martin (James Bye) and Ruby (Louisa Lytton)'s marriage has been on rocky ground following Ruby's lies about his ex Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) pushing her down some stairs, which led to Stacey's wrongful imprisonment. Their relationship will truly crumble this week when Martin visits Stacey in prison and hears the truth about Ruby's scheming.

With Ruby also battling Stacey's mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), who recently discovered the truth about Ruby's schemes, her lies are unravelling and later this week she will finally be forced to admit the truth to Martin after he confronts her.

The timing couldn't be worse as Ruby discovers that she is pregnant shortly before admitting all to Martin, and it sounds as if things are soon going to get even worse for Martin.

A harsh decision made by Ruby leaves Martin devastated and he finds himself at breaking point.

Martin heads to the club to drown his sorrows and gets talking to Zack Hudson (James Farrar), who comes up with a plan. What does Zack suggest and will Martin be on board with his idea?

This storyline will facilitate Ruby's exit as actress Louisa Lytton goes on maternity leave, having recently filmed her final scenes before giving birth to her first child.

Stacey, meanwhile, will be making her comeback to the Square as Lacey Turner returns from her own maternity leave after having her baby son in February.

EastEnders boss Kate Oates recently promised that Ruby would "come to a slightly sticky end" before Stacey's return, with Stacey also set to introduce her new friend and prison cellmate Eve (Heather Peace) to the Square.

But there's a chance that Eve could end up bringing even more chaos to Walford...

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
