Creative Assembly have officially announced that their upcoming strategy title Total War: Warhammer III will now launch in early 2022. The delay will allow devs extra time to fine-tune the game systems.

Total War: Warhammer III won't be coming this year since the development team need more time to fine-tune the gameplay and polish the overall experience. Creative Assembly confirmed that the game is now scheduled to launch in early 2022 but they did not mention a more specific release date.

And while the news about the delay will come as a disappointment to some fans, Creative Assembly have a global reveal of Grand Cathay nation tomorrow, to "ease the pain."

Here is Creative Assembly's announcement in full:

"While it's tempting to rush to the finish line as i comes into view, we have made the decision to give it a little more time by moving the launch of Total War: Warhammer III from 2021 to early 2022.

The wait won't be much longer and we'll have plenty of new information for you in the meantime. The new date will make for a stronger release and the best first step into a new era for Total War: Warhammer.

We don't consider this release the end of our trilogy, but a start of years of content and support as we continue to bring the jaw-dropping scale of Games Workshop's fantasy universe to Total War."

Total War: Warhammer III is announced for PC only.
