Just because Aaron Rodgers got outplayed by Jameis Winston doesn't mean the world should start writing the epitaph for the Green Bay Packers quarterback's relevance as an elite competitor. Sure, it doesn't look good to get beat by Winston, but anybody can have an off night. Pretty sure even Michael Jordan once had a bad game.

But if you still think that Aaron Rodgers is done, perhaps suspend that thought for at least one more week, or at least after the Packers have played Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions this coming Sunday.

Please.

According to James Palmer of NFL Network, Aaron Rodgers has gone undefeated in all of his last six games after a loss since 2019. In those games, Rodgers completed nearly 68% of his passes, averaged 252.2 passing yards, and threw 16 touchdowns against zero interceptions. Overall, Rodgers compiled a 119.0 passer rating in those contests. In other words, those are numbers Jameis Winston is going to need a Lasik surgery after every game to reach.

Against the Saints, Aaron Rodgers went just 15-of-28 for 133 passing yards and zero touchdowns with two interceptions. That was not the real Rodgers. The Rodgers we know will show up in Week 2 at Lambeau Field and leave the field with bloodied Lions defenders on the field. That's the same Detroit defense that allowed Jimmy Garoppolo to rack up 314 passing yards on 17-of-25 passing and a 124.2 passer rating. If there's a perfect time for Rodgers to act as if nothing had happened after throwing up in the toilet, it's got to be this Week 2 game against a familiar victim.

The last time Aaron Rodgers crossed paths with the Lions, he went 26-of-33 for 290 passing yards and three touchdowns without a pick. He was not even sacked in that 31-24 road win in Week 14 of the 2020 NFL season.

It's still the Aaron Rodgers show in Green Bay. Everyone just has to R-E-L-A-X.
