The Lions lost at home to the San Francisco 49ers in their season opener 41-33. It wasn’t as close as the score appears as they were trailing 41-17 with 9:53 remaining in the game. QB Jared Goff had 338 passing yards and 3 touchdowns in his Lions debut, but he had an interception returned for a touchdown.

On another sour note, second-year CB Jeff Okudah suffered a season-ending torn Achilles.

The Packers were blown out 38-3 by the New Orleans Saints, who were the home team though the game was played in Jacksonville, Fla.

The offense mustered only 229 total yards, while QB Aaron Rodgers was held to 133 passing yards without a touchdown and 2 interceptions.

Lions at Packers head-to-head

This divisional rivalry dates back to 1930. The Packers lead the all-time series 104-72-7 and have swept the season series each of the last two seasons. Green Bay has won four straight, following a Detroit four-win streak in the series.

In 22 career games against the Lions, Rodgers is 17-5 with 46 touchdowns and only eight interceptions.

Goff, who only has one start against the Packers in his career, will face them for the first time as a member of the Lions. He is 1-0 against the Pack, passing for 295 yards and 3 touchdowns without an interception in that game.
