One of the most premier tournaments in club football begins this week, and one of the opening matches sees one of the best in the history of England kick things off, as Manchester United takes on BSC Young Boys on Tuesday.
Despite their strong performance in the English Premier League, Manchester United has only won the Champions League three times, most famously part of the first English Treble in 1999. Since their last win in 2008, they have only made it to the final twice, losing in 2009 and 2011. This year, they look to bring in a revamped roster after not making it out of the group stage last year. With the (hopefully) triumphant return of Cristiano Ronaldo, ManU is looking for a deep run this season.

The Young Boys come from the Swiss Super League, and have won the league crown four straight years. This is the club’s first trip to the Champions League since the 2018-19 season. They have never made it out of the opening round, dating back to their first European Cup appearance back in 1958. They had a solid run in the Europa League last season, before being knocked out in the Round of 16 against Ajax.
