Sunday Times names Hambleden as one of the best villages in the UK

Buckinghamshire has a lot of beautiful village, but one has very clearly come out on top

A village in Buckinghamshire came in the top three of the best villages in the UK.

The small village of Hambleden placed third out of the top 50 villages in the country - according to The Sunday Times

The newspaper picked the top rural addresses to live a dream country life.

Hambleden, located in the south of Buckinghamshire, about four miles west of Marlow, made the cut.

Only a few villages 'have it all' according to the Times, with criteria including 'attractive houses, good connections, a decent school and friendly neighbours'.

The Times says the average house price in the lovely village stand at around £1,021,640.

Describing the idyllic Bucks village, The Times states: "The windmills, rose-draped brick-and-flint houses and rolling fields of this enchanting valley will remain perfectly pastoral thanks to the National Trust and its area of outstanding natural beauty status.
