EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders will continue to hint at a darker side to Rocky as he meddles in Sonia's new romance next week.

Upcoming scenes will see Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) get something to smile about when newcomer Ethan takes a shine to her at the gym.

Sonia can hardly contain her excitement as she continues to connect with Ethan next week, but her new relationship leaves Rocky unsettled.

As Sonia reminisces about their date, she tells Ethan that he has potential – unaware that Rocky is listening.

Rocky is forced to put his concerns aside to focus on Whitney's upcoming gig, only to be left disappointed when she suddenly pulls out.

After some encouragement from Sonia, Whitney has a change of heart about her performance and decides to show up after all. She is then left delighted to hear that she has reached the final of the competition.

Rocky is also thrilled with Whitney's success but is mood darkens when he spots Ethan kissing another woman at the bar.

Unable to control his anger, Rocky punches Ethan, before being taken away by security.

Later, Sonia suggests investing her inheritance that she has been given early by Dot into Rocky's warehouse development idea.

Her conversation is interrupted by Ethan, who is keen to make amends, but Sonia firmly rejects him.

When Rocky sees Ethan's car later on, he takes matters into his own hands.

Fans will have to wait and see what Rocky does this time, but Sonia is keen to plough on with her investment plans later in the week.

She tells Dotty and Kathy about her plans with Rocky, but can he really be trusted?

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
