On Sunday, former WFAN host Mike Francesa crushed the New York Yankees for their “embarrassing” performance over the weekend against the New York Mets.
On Monday, Francesa was singing a somewhat new tune on Twitter after the Yankees’ 6-5 win over the Minnesota Twins, thanks to one player in particular. That would be right fielder Aaron Judge: “Considering how dead on their feet the Yanks were for most of the game, Judge’s three-run HR in 8th that tied game was as clutch as it gets.”
Judge’s 394-foot blast was his 33rd home run of the season. That’s the most he’s hit in a single season since his breakout rookie campaign in 2017, which saw him hit 52 home runs.
“You’ve got to enjoy the ride,” Judge said, per MLB.com. “When you’re on a roller coaster, you’ve got to enjoy it. This is the fun part of the year, so just keep riding it -- and ride it through the playoffs.”

Judge has three home runs in his last three games. And that’s not all, according to Yankees PR. Monday’s blast “marked his 12th career HR (third of the season) that either tied the game (four) or gave the Yankees the lead (eight) in the eighth inning or later ... also hit a game-tying solo HR in the eighth inning on 8/14 at Chicago-AL and a game-tying two-run HR in the eighth inning on 9/11 at New York-NL. Eleven of his last 26 HR and 13 of his 33 HR this season have either tied the game (three) or given the Yankees the lead (10).”
